Free-form bouquets are where it’s at for wedding season 2018 and Inspire Floral Boutique is way ahead!
We cannot tell you how excited we are with this particular flower trend that is taking over for 2017! We’re going to #humblebrag just a little and say that, while we may be a small town florist, we were out ahead of this one waaaaaaay back in 2016.
According to the Flower Trends Forecast, it’s “lush, free-form bouquets” that are trending for the upcoming wedding season.
While we’re talking weddings in this post, this style is truly exciting to create for any occasion. It’s unstructured, high on richness, depth and details. And so incredibly, uniquely, beautiful!
The free-form trend that reflects a sense of individuality and creativity for both client and florist. In this Instagram, photo-op, visual culture that’s being cultivated, the same-same, cookie cutter, more traditional bouquets that have preceded this one just don’t cut it.
And we couldn’t be happier!
Researching consumer purchasing behaviours, and all of the factors (social, political and environmental) that affect buying decisions is what the International Floral Distributors, Inc. (IFD) does every year in partnership with a leading flower trend forecaster. This is vital information to we floral industry folk and we look forward to the annual release of “Flower Trends Forecast”.
Even if we pride ourselves in being out ahead of a trend, this research helps us meet and respond to what can be the fast moving target that is our customer’s floral desires, tastes and preferences.
A spirit of individuality, reflecting the diverse backgrounds, lifestyles and cultures of our clients is great fun to represent in a floral medium. The identification of it as a trend confirms that there is demand for providing unique and unexpected tweaks and twists to the traditional bouquet or arrangement – totally our jam!
It’s about texture, details, and more eclectic flower choices to create larger, less structured, rich, lush bouquets. Without tossing the traditional entirely, it’s a beautiful combination of what’s come before and contemporary design while incorporating a unique and updated colour palette.
There’s a complexity to these arrangements that better reflects the client’s personality, preferences and taste for the classic and timeless yet with a definite chic, modern flare.
