Behind the Scenes. Team Profile: Kim Shreeve
Honouring our employees! Our wonder from the land down under makes every day at Inspire just that much more a pleasure!
A recent import from Australia, Kim Shreeve joined the Inspire team last August. And we LOVE having her!
Kim came to us after simply coming in as a customer in search of balloons for her mother’s birthday last summer. To our good fortune, she inquired as to whether we might be hiring… and here we are!
Now an Assistant Manager, she has an innate understanding of the importance of customer service and teamwork. She is also attuned to the business side of the operations. Well organized, Kim finds no task too daunting to coordinate and is super effective at streamlining systems and procedures. She’s quick to recognize what needs done and is a creative problem solver exploring new and efficient ways to complete tasks.
Communication is key to the success of any business, and that is absolutely the case with Kim! She works well with everyone on the team and her excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow her to provide direction to her colleagues with ease and effectiveness while being well received.
Her role requires diverse knowledge and experience, from back-of-house to front, and Kim is nothing if not well balanced in her skills: designing displays, receiving product shipments, floral design, and of course customer service. She is a loyal, dedicated, hardworking, and focused. And, despite her increasing responsibilities and all that she brings to her role, she is also incredibly easy-going; deftly handling customers and colleagues with her open, friendly nature and her gorgeous smile. One of her goals on the job, that she achieves more often than not, is to make everyone’s lives a little easier!
Kim came to us with credentials, armed with her Aussie certificate in floristry. Part of her own family’s business since she was a child, quality customer service was something she learned early on. As a florist, Kim is partial to working with Australian greens and exotic, tropical florals and favours modern, simple design. She keeps up with trends via the Internet and is receptive to client feedback.
She’s proud to sell the wide variety of products we have on offer and she was thrilled to get back into the florist game after taking a year-and-a-half off from the industry, achieving things she hadn’t really thought possible. Kim has felt a valued member of the staff, welcomed by her colleagues and enjoys working all of them immensely. She appreciates the leadership at Inspire; their hard work and eagerness to keep their products and services fresh, interesting, and unique from everything else in town.
A beach lover, Kim loves summer and spending her free time on her SUP or boating. When the snow flies, as an avid snowboarder, she takes advantage of the mountains close by. With her easy-going nature, she also loves spending quality time, sharing laughs, with her friends.
Kim is such an integral part of our team here at Inspire Floral Design and we are SO very grateful she’s with us!
Floral design tip from Kim: Keep your flowers looking fresh by keeping them well hydrated, re-cutting the stems every few days, and enjoy your arrangement well away from a heat source.
